The 6-Step Trading Framework

Consistent profitability in the markets isn’t about a single magic indicator — it’s about a repeatable process that answers six questions in order, every time, before you risk a dollar. KingdomEdge Algo is built around that process.

How it works

Traders who thrive don’t ask “what’s this stock going to do?” — they ask six structured questions in sequence and only pull the trigger when the answers line up. Each of our indicators maps to one or more steps of this framework so you never have to improvise the workflow on the fly. Here’s the sequence:

1 Curve / Channel Position

Where is price sitting inside its recent range — at the top, the bottom, or somewhere in the middle? Reversions from the edges are higher-probability than chases through the middle. Setting the curve is the first decision before any other signal matters.

2 Trend Confirmation

What direction is the market moving on the timeframe you’re planning to trade? Trading with the trend dramatically improves your odds. Trading against it is how accounts get blown up.

3 Zone Identification

Is there a historically respected supply or demand zone nearby? A fresh, untouched zone in the direction of the trend is where institutions quietly accumulate or distribute.

4 Score the Trade

Does the setup actually have the odds in its favor? The 0–10 Odds Enhancer scorecard grades every potential trade across Strength, Time, Freshness, Trend, Curve, and Profit Zone. HIGH (≥8) takes the proximal entry, MED (7–8) waits for confirmation, LOW (<7) is a no-trade.

5 S.E.T.S. — Build the Plan

Strength · Entry · Time · Strategy. Pick your entry style (Proximal at zone edge, Zone at midpoint, or Confirmation after close-back), three R-multiple targets calculated from the setup’s risk, ATR-anchored structure stops. The full plan is defined before you enter, every time.

6 Place the Order

Execution closes the loop. The webhook fires from TradingView at bar-close, the KE Cloud Bot routes the order through IBKR with the exact entry, stop, and three take-profit levels — no manual entry, no missed signals while you’re away from the desk.

Why a Framework, Not a “Holy Grail” Indicator

Most retail traders chase indicators — looking for the one signal, the one setting, the one chart pattern that will make them money. That’s the wrong question.

Professional traders chase process. They answer the same six questions before every trade, and they let their tools enforce the discipline. KingdomEdge Algo is a suite of indicators that cover all six steps, so you never drift, skip a step, or improvise a decision under pressure.

  • Curve Analysis answers step 1
  • Trend answers step 2
  • Zone answers step 3
  • SETS Trade + KE Screener answer step 4 — the 0–10 Odds Enhancer scorecard
  • SETS Trade answers step 5 — the full S.E.T.S. plan with entry type, stops, and targets
  • SETS Alert + KE Cloud Bot answer step 6 — automated order placement through IBKR

Every indicator’s dashboard shows which step of the framework it’s currently answering, so at a glance you can see where you are in the decision process and what’s left to confirm.

Aligned with the Methodologies Traders Actually Use

This six-step framework isn’t proprietary to KingdomEdge — it distills concepts that have been taught for decades by respected supply/demand educators and floor-trader traditions. Our implementation is designed to work alongside, not replace, the methodologies students are already learning. If you’re coming from:

  • SurgeU’s 6-Step Surge Strategy — KingdomEdge Algo’s indicators map directly to the Curve / Trend / Zone framework taught in SurgeU, with Classic Surge Zone mode for wick-to-wick zone drawing, the 0–10 Odds Enhancer scorecard, and a Decision Matrix output that mirrors the Reference Guide layout.
  • Sam Seiden-style supply and demand trading — the RBD / DBD / DBR / RBR zone classifier identifies the same institutional formations taught across the supply/demand community.
  • SMB Capital’s structured execution process — SETS Trade’s three entry types (Proximal, Zone, Confirmation) match the aggressive / scaled / confirmation entry styles taught to prop traders.
  • ICT and smart-money concepts — while orthogonal to supply/demand zoning, KingdomEdge’s Odds Enhancer scoring can be combined with ICT narrative-based entries for multi-framework confluence.

KingdomEdge Algo is an independent technology product. We do not resell or redistribute course content from any third-party educator. Students of any of the programs above who are looking for tooling that respects their methodology will find this product built to match the way they already think about the market.

Surge Vocabulary — where you find it in KingdomEdge

If you’re coming from SurgeU’s Surge Strategy coursework, every concept from the Reference Cards has a visible home inside KingdomEdge Algo. A quick translator so you never have to guess.

SurgeU term Where it shows in KingdomEdge
Curve position (High / Middle / Low) The CURVE POS cell on the Curve Analysis dashboard, color-coded ▲ HIGH (green) · ─ MIDDLE (gold) · ▼ LOW (red). Plus explicit CSH and CSL rows showing the rolling Channel Strength extremes.
Zone formation — RBD / DBD / DBR / RBR Formation tag in brackets on every zone label, e.g. [RBD] for Rally-Base-Drop (supply, reversal) or [DBR] for Drop-Base-Rally (demand, reversal).
Proximal and Distal lines When Classic Surge Zone mode is enabled on the Zone indicator, the solid horizontal line sits at the proximal (body edge facing price), and the zone box extends to the distal (wick extreme). Wick-to-wick drawing, exactly as Surge teaches.
Zone freshness — Fresh / Aged / Stale Badge on every zone label: ◆ FRESH (untouched), ◇ AGED (tested once), ⬡ STALE (tested 3+ times). Higher-odds setups cluster at Fresh zones.
Decision Matrix (Curve × Trend × Zone) Full-width color-coded cell at the top of the SETS Trade dashboard: ◉ BUY (trend + demand aligned) · ◉ SELL (trend + supply aligned) · ◎ WAIT (mid-range) · ✕ NO TRADE (conflict) · — NEUTRAL.
Odds Enhancer (0–10 scorecard) Six-factor model on SETS Trade and KE Screener: Strength (max 2), Time (max 1), Freshness (max 2), Trend (max 2), Curve (max 1), Profit Zone (max 2). HIGH ≥ 8 (Proximal Entry), MED 7–8 (Confirmation Entry), LOW < 7 (No Trade).
Surge entry types — Proximal / Zone / Confirmation Dropdown input on SETS Trade. Proximal = aggressive, enter at zone edge. Zone = balanced, enter at midpoint. Confirmation = conservative, only fire after close back across proximal.
SurgeU 6-Step Surge Strategy Each KingdomEdge indicator shows a unified STEP N block at the top of its dashboard: Curve = Step 1, Trend = Step 2, Zone = Step 3, SETS Trade = Steps 4–6. Consistent branding across every chart.

Supply and demand zones are identified from candle structure at swing pivots — the same price-action methodology SurgeU teaches. No Level 2 / order-book data required; zones are visible from OHLC alone.
